Family: Thraupidae
Description
The tanagers: Small, colorful birds restricted to the New World and mainly to the tropics. This family is in a state of flux; some experts now consider that the tanagers that migrate to North America in the summer belong in family Cardinalidae. The following genera were recently moved to the Cardinals:
Some genera which were previously placed in the Cardinalidae are now believed to belong here and have therefore been moved to this family. This includes the genera:
