Identification
22cm (8½ in)
- Black head and upper chest
- Bluish-grey upperparts, wing and tail
- There may be some white feathers behind the eye and on the chin
Distribution
Southern Ecuador and the northern-western Peru.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Humid montane forests, forest edges and scrubland. Generally seen at heights around 1700–2900 m.
Behaviour
Diet
They are generally seen foraging in pairs, though they may join mixed species flocks. They are mostly seen in the trees, but little information about their diet is avaiable.
