Subspecies
Three subspecies are recognized[1] (subspecies of Inaccessible Island Finch intergrade where their distributions abut).
- N. a. acunhae - coastal lowlands of Inaccessible Island
- N. a. fraseri - central plateau of Inaccessible Island
- N. a. dunnei - coast and eastern part of interior plateau of Inaccessible Island
