Genus: Pipraeidea
Description
An unusual Tanager from South America.
It has a short, wide, swallow-like bill with a small hook, short legs and a short tail.
Taxonomy
Pipraeidea is a monotypic genus in the family Thraupidae.
Blue-and-yellow Tanager was moved to the genus Rauenia.
The placement of this genus has been much debated but recent resarch confirms the present placement.
