Identification
Size: larger than Puerto Rican Bullfinch but overall length not listed. A photo of specimens indicate about 1 inch difference in size so 7,5-8,5 inches long?
Adults were mostly identical: mostly black with relatively dark rufous on crown, throat, and undertail coverts (these with black streaking). Juveniles similar to young of Puerto Rican Bullfinch but darker and more reddish brown rather than greenish olive.
Distribution
St. Kitts in the Lesser Antilles. Not observed with certainty since 1920.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly included in Puerto Rican Bullfinch.
Habitat
Only found high on the one mountain in St. Kitts by the time it was described.
Behaviour
Unknown.
Vocalisation
Unknown.
