South America: found in arid scrub of south-western Ecuador and western Peru.

This is a monotypic species^[1].

Habitat

Desert and riparian scrub, generally near water with a dense shrub layer. Also farmland. Observed at heights of 2700m.

Behaviour

Diet

Their main diet consists mostly of invertebrates. They usually forage in pairs either low in the trees or on or close to the ground in dense vegetation.
