Taxonomy
Pycnonotidae is a family in the Order Passeriformes.
The genus Nicator which was included in this family in the past, has now been placed in its own family Nicatoridae. Also some species from Madagascar formerly included in the genus Phyllastrephus are now in the family Bernieridae.
