Identification
Distribution
Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Taxonomy
Three subspecies recognized:
- A. m. kakamegae from eastern Democratic Republic of Congo to Uganda, western Kenya and western Tanzania
- A. m. kungwensis in western Tanzania (Mt. Kungwe area)
- A. m. roehli in the highlands of eastern Tanzania
- A. m. masukuensis in southwestern Tanzania to northern Malawi
The subspecies kakamegae is sometimes split as Kakamega Greenbul, Andropadus kakamegae.
This species was formerly placed in the genus Andropadus.
Habitat
Dry forests and moist montanes.
