Identification
Size-19cm. Red iris (brown in juvenile) and less contrast between upperparts and underparts. Upperparts dark brown; underparts light brown with deep buff on the abdomen; undertail coverts ochreous buff.
Distribution
Tenasserim, Myanmar through the Malay Peninsula to the Greater Sundas.

Habitat
Forests, forest edges and plantations.
Behaviour
Commonly observed in small parties along forest trails and in cultivated land at the forest fringes. Gathers in fruiting trees and shrubs with the bulbuls.
