- Sierra Leone to Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Togo
- B. i. indicator (chlorosaturatus):
- Nigeria to southern South Sudan, Uganda, and western Kenya, south to northern Angola, southern Democratic Republic of the Congo, and extreme northwestern Zambia
