Areas in New York
Niagara Frontier (Kingbird Region 1) Includes Niagara, Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany counties as well as the western half of Orleans, Geneseo and Wyoming counties. This region is best known for its wide selection of Gulls found along the Niagara river in fall and winter. Ross's Goose and Greater White-fronted Goose are recorded annually in this area. The southern part of this region is the one area in the state where Yellow-throated Warbler are usually found in at least a few locations, sometimes even nests. Many vagrants have been found in this region.
Genesee Region (Kingbird Region 2) Includes Monroe, Livingston, and Wayne counties as well as the eastern half of Orleans, Geneseo and Wyoming counties and the western half of Ontario county.
