Other Wildlife
Grey Seals are common on the mudflats, and can be heard singing at most times of the year. The first Northumbrian record of Harp Seal was found here on 10-12 September 1995. White-beaked Dolphins are often seen offshore, and Minke Whales occasionally so.
Flora
The Lindisfarne Helleborine Epipactis sancta is endemic in the Holy Island dune systems. Several other rare orchids also occur on Holy Island.
