Buskett and Wied il-Luq Bird Sanctuary - BirdForum Opus

Overview

Buskett is the most extensive area of evergreen woodland remaining in Malta consisting of mainly Aleppo Pine with Evergreen Oak, Norfolk Island Pine and Date Palm. Wied il-Luq a small valley with a strip of deciduous woodland, mainly Ash Elm, Poplar and Oak which lies below Buskett.

Notable Species

This area attracts many migrant passerines and is a roosting site for passage raptors including occasional Eleonora's Falcon. Not surprisingly this is a popular area with hunters.
