Genus: Amazona
Description
A widespread group of short-tailed medium to large parrots found from Mexico through the Caribbean, Central and South America. They fly with mostly still wings, mostly having movement in the primaries (hand).
Taxonomy
Amazona is a genus in the Family Psittacidae. It is likely that Yellow-faced Parrot in the future will be moved to genus Alipiopsitta.
