Sark - BirdForum Opus

Channel Islands

Overview

The small island of Sark lies between Jersey and Guernsey and consists of two peninsulas joined by a narrow bridge.

The islands is fringed by high cliffs and the plateau has grassland and small wooded valleys.

Birds

Notable Species

Passerine migrants are attracted to the scrub and wooded valleys and Eperquerie Common on the north coast is a well-known locality.

Dixcart Valley is densely wooded and a good site for plants and insect that also attracts birds and in the east the valley at La Greve de la Ville is worthy of exploration for birders.

Les Autelets Rocks to the west have breeding Guillemot. The best known particularly abundant.
