Description

SACC1 has a note that Pitelka has described the behavior of this genus as Emberizidae-like.

Taxonomy

Chlorospingus is currently treated as a genus in the family Thraupidae; however, SACC1 places this genus as INCERTAE SEDIS; a proposal have been put forward to place it in family Emberizidae.
