Genus: Nesomimus
Description
Galapagos Mockingbirds. These four species played an important role for Charles Darwin when he worked on his theory of evolution.
Taxonomy
Nesomimus is a genus in the family Mimidae. Recent DNA data shows as expected that this group of species is closely related to genus Mimus. SACC has taken the consequence of transferring all four species to Mimus, but the world wide checklists have not yet followed suit, and Opus is waiting for their possible future move.
