Overview
Pescadero Marsh Natural Preserve is located inland from the Pescadero State Beach, on the California coast, 14.5 miles south of Half Moon Bay on Highway One, south of San Fransisco. Two creeks join to make an estuary and lagoon and it is the largest marsh between Monterey Bay and San Francisco, a haven for many birds.

Notable Species
Pescadero is an excellent place to observe typical birds of the rocky Pacific shoreline, including Black Oystercatcher, Pelagic and Brandt's Cormorants, Surfbird, and Black Turnstone.
Rarities
A Yellow-billed Loon was present here in November 2006.

The marsh and beach are accessible from the state beach parking lot just south of the bridge over Pescadero Creek on California Highway 1, about forty miles south of San Francisco.
