Alternative name: Kawall's Parrot; White-faced Amazon

Identification
35-36 cm.
Very similar to Mealy Amazon, but has a narrow white strip of bare skin bordering base of bill, the periorbital ring is mid-grey. The tail is shorter, the yellowish terminal band reduced and with scarlet and some blue on basal half of outermost tail feathers. Also lacks the red on leading edge of wing and the floury tone of the upperparts of Mealy Amazons.
Sexes similar, immatures undescribed.
Distribution
Amazon Basin, Brazil.
A recently discovered species, very poorly known. Seems to be an uncommon, cryptic species.

This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Found in tropical lowland forest. May be associated with watercourses.
Behaviour
Almost no information on behaviour. Has been seen feeding on the bark of a tree.
No other information about diet, breeding or movements.
