Identification

Sexes alike.

Similar species

Collared Aracari differs for example in the bill coloration.

Distribution

Central America: found on the Pacific slope of Costa Rica and western Panama (western Chiriquí).

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Secondary rain forest, Shady coffee plantations. It ranges from near sea level up to 1,500 m (4,921 ft).
