Identification

  • Greyish-brown upperparts
  • Buff underparts
  • Grey crown
  • Black mask
  • Rufous wings
  • Black tail
  • Yellow eye ring
  • Black bill
  • Yellow lower mandible, tipped black

Distribution

Central America: found only on Cocos Island, (off western Costa Rica).

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Humid lowland forests, moist montanes, moist shrubland.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes large insects and lizards.
