Description
Shortwings.
Taxonomy
Brachypteryx is a genus in the Family Muscicapidae.
It was formerly placed in the family Turdidae, but genetic evidence showed it to belong to the Old World Flycatchers.
Gould's Shortwing is now placed in its own genus Heteroxenicus, two species from southwestern India are now placed in their own genus Sholicola.
