Very busy at the bird feeder today!
Madness in the garden this morning, the neighbours (who have a fake barn owl to scare off the birds) had put a load of bread out which the starlings were going mad for, lots of house sparrows getting in on the action, to my surprise a great tit appeared on one of my relocated feeders, a garden...- AndyK

Very busy at the bird feeder today!
Just been out feeding the birds and something swooped over my right shoulder, into the bushes and flew to the houses behind and landed, a sparrowhawk! My wish for a garden bop tick came true, fantastic! Can't believe it flew so close to me!- AndyK

Just wanted to remind everyone to clean your feeders out, I did mine yesterday and it was pretty grim stuff, one of them had small yellow things in which looked like some kind of maggots, ugh!- AndyK

Not had chance to see whats been visiting my feeder through the week due to setting off & arriving home in the dark but they are certainly going through it quick! Very busy at the bird feeder today!
More & more visiting my garden as the cold of autumn sets in. The usual 15 house sparrows, 1 blue tit, 1 robin and a first... a Wren! It didnt go near the feeder but was hopping around in the shrubs behind, such a lovely little bird and a real bonus!- AndyK

Very busy at the bird feeder today!
Morning all, not been around for quite some time! My garden bird count is finally beginning to pick up from just sparrows, I had 2 collared doves, a robin and a blue tit in the garden this weekend. Looks like adding a nut feeder has worked wonders! Looking forward to seeing more as winter sets in!- AndyK

for me its the house sparrows earlybird, we have about 20 that live in the houses behind and hang about in the shrubs behind our fence, they absolutely love bill oddies wild seed. Very busy at the bird feeder today!
I have to give credit to Mrs K for that one, I was occupied at the time and luckily she grabbed the camera for me, I did get to see it just before it flew off though! Loads of house sparrows back at the feeder this morning, the suet pellets are still there so hopefully this method will conserve...- AndyK

Finally got around to downloading my photos, so here are a few pics of the recent new visitors. Bullfinch & Coal Tit. Really sad story about the kingfisher, such a delightful bird. I do have some pics of the bullfinch on the feeder but I have about 1500 to sort through after a weekend at the airshow so maybe will post during the week! Very busy at the bird feeder today!
A new garden bird this weekend, had a bullfinch hanging from the sunflower hearts feeder which was a real shock on friday evening! Not seen it since but I've been away all weekend, im sure it was just a flying visit though. Goldfinch was back again this morning plus around 8 house sparrows.- AndyK

My re-design consists of banging on the window or opening the curtains rapidly |:D| Yep its always upsetting seeing any dead wildlife, I hate to see the 'roadkill' when im on my travels. 7 house sparrows this morning, numbers down by half, blackbird was back to hoovering up the scraps and 2 woodpigeons this morning, damn things keep eating everything and none of the other birds will come whilst they sit there :C Got to the office this morning & found a dead female blackbird...- AndyK

BFB the hot weather is always too much for me, I cant be doing with 28c it stops me from sleeping! Largest house sparrow count this morning, my feeders were empty (greedy blighters!) but there were 14 feeding on the scraps on the ground. 3 starlings also came to have a bit of a nosey at what...- AndyK

Busy busy busy this morning! Opened the curtains to find greedy mr woodpigeon gobbling everything up again, only this time he'd brought 2 friends along, they flew off when I whipped open the curtains (my new trick to get rid of the greedy blighters!). Counted 10 house sparrows on the feeders...- AndyK

Looks like a great tit to me, I had a coal tit the other day and it was so small. Very busy at the bird feeder today!
Seen the goldfinch again this morning along with plenty of house sparrows and 1 male blackbird who appears at 7:00am every morning and hops around picking up the scraps under the feeder! a new garden bird for me this weekend, they seem to be coming thick and fast at the moment! This time it was a very shabby looking coal tit, think it must have been moulting, very happily hopping around the garden picking up fallen seed from the feeders with two house sparrows. lots of sparrows about again today, the juvs are still sitting on the edge of the seed tray and refusing to feed themselves. maybe one day they will make the adventurous step of putting their head down and eating for themselves!! saw one of my goldies again last night, only seems to be one...- AndyK
