Identification

34 cm (13½ in)

Distribution

South America: found in south-eastern Venezuela (Gran Sabana) to the Guianas and possibly adjacent Brazil.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1], formerly considered conspecific with Red-browed Parrot[2].

Habitat

Rainforest, cloud forest and savanna woodlands up to 1700m. They also visit coastal sand-ridge forests.

Behaviour
