Identification

Distribution

Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and Peru.

Taxonomy

Three subspecies recognized.
Relicta is sometimes split as Slate-blue Seedeater.

Habitat

Moist montanes.
