Prominent species include Hepatic Tanager, the Abeille's race of Bullock's Oriole, Slate-throated Redstart, and Gray Silky Flycatcher. The park's edges rise to higher elevations and preserve low oak scrub with some desert plants such as agaves. Hooded Yellowthroat, Blue Mockingbird, and Rufous-capped Brush Finch have been reported from these areas but are elusive outside the breeding season.
