Distribution
Central and South America: found from east Colombia to northern Bolivia, the Guianas and from eastern Bolivia east to south central and southeast Brazil.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly placed in genus Oryzoborus.
Habitat
They are found in grassland, shrubby areas and marshland near water.
Behaviour
Diet
Seed-eaters, but apart from that not a lot is known.
