Hi,

I've seen a bird in my garden today and I'm not sure what it is.

It's the size of a wagtail, it walks like a wagtail, it has a long tail (but not as long as a typical black and white wagtail).

Its generally brown in colour but has a white speckled breast (like a thrush)

I've not been able to get a decent pic. here's the best i can do at the moment.

Hi Sharky, Welcome to Bird Forum, your bird could be a Meadow Pipit but its dificult to make out any detail. Cheers, Neil.

Hi, You've got a Meadow pipit there! Not a usual garden bird, but the cold's getting them on the move!

Welcome to BirdForum... we're always here to help!

wow, thanks everyone. Its pretty dark now, so i've given up trying to get more pics.

After looking it up in the book it certainly looks like a meadow pipit, but i'll try to get some more pics.

Its been in my garden on and off for most of the day so hopefully it'll be back tomorrow.

Thank you

chris
