It is funny that even with rising Swarovski prices, they don't give out freebies like they used to. Many times in the past they have sent me free rain guards, objective covers and even cases but no more. Thanks for the tip @Thosmosis but.....
Austria has spoken and in the (approximate) words of Customer Services, told me to Foxtrot Oscar and buy some if I wish.
Fair enough, after all what is a €25-30 item, (cost about €5 to SW), to someone who has bought €6500 worth of Swarovski binoculars in the last 2 years?
Mmm, around about €3800 for a cancelled pre-order for the 14x52mm NL Pure's methinks.
No need to tell me I am being pedantic and childish because I know I am, but that parsimonious response has hit a sensitive spot that I never knew existed.
Still love my objective cover-less Habicht's though!
Ah well, Red Dot Land next stop.
That soap is more important. It will keep your armor from peeling off.Well…that makes my decision even more difficult 😜….it would help if Swarovski would give me the option to swap the soap for the headrest and/or the tripod adapter…and gave a free pair of objective covers for life
I’m informed that Swarovski solved the problem with the armor, so with the new NL Pure 52’s you should be ok, and that they change the armor when they come in for service. So no soap needed 😜That soap is more important. It will keep your armor from peeling off.
I never had a problem (so far) to get objective covers or eye cups from Leica or Zeiss here in The Netherlands from Zeis Germany or Leica Portugal or from the very good dealers that we have over here. Don’t have experience with Swarovski though….and IMO its ridiculous that you have to buy the headrest for the NL Pure separately. That is one of the reasons I didn’t buy one (yet). It is funny that even with rising Swarovski prices, they don't give out freebies like they used to. Many times in the past they have sent me free rain guards, objective covers and even cases but no more.
I guess it is a sign of the times and everybody is tightening their belts. Maybe mention to them that you are so riled you might cancel your 12x52 NL Pure, and they will have a change of heart. I think it has cost them so much to rearmor all those returned binoculars that management said no more free stuff.
Leica is pretty stingy about frees parts also. It took me forever to get a pair of eye cups once from Leica and I had to pay for them. So they are no bowl of cherries to deal with either.
I have the exact same strap on my HT's for walkabout.I know its me but the supplied black strap just didn't look right on the Gummi Meisters so as all my cameras have Peak Design straps I thought why not try the new Sage colour PD Leash. Here it is and I rather like the colour which matches the green nicely. The strap itself, like all PD straps, adjusts for length in a flash.

There was an Englishman in our Valley last week wearing a 'I Love Lea and Perrins' T-shirt.I have the exact same strap on my HT's for walkabout.
But at home on the side, I use the wrist strap as it is much less cumbersome.
The swap out is a few seconds, that design is so good.
Strange to find a gentleman with such taste the wrong side of Offas Dyke😘
Great straps

He was quickly set upon by the VietTaff and, in his haste to get back over the Border, dropped a strap-like thingy.
Shame to waste it...............
(Could have dropped the Sage Green one mind.......).

Zeiss here in the UK are still very generous with straps, eyecups, rain guards and objective caps. Only requires you give the serial number of binoculars or spotting scope you intend to fit them to.It is funny that even with rising Swarovski prices, they don't give out freebies like they used to. Many times in the past they have sent me free rain guards, objective covers and even cases but no more.

Zeiss is also generous in the US. I have never had any problem getting extra freebies from them if I need them.Zeiss here in the UK are still very generous with straps, eyecups, rain guards and objective caps. Welcome back to the bright side of life!I just picked another Habicht 8x30 W leatherette version on eBay for $750, and it is like new. Every time I come back to a Habicht I am amazed how good they are for such a small and light binocular.
They are very sharp on-axis and very transparent, and of course very bright for their aperture. I really notice the 3D stereoscopic view out to about 100 yards also.
It is hard to beat a good porro like the Habicht for value. They even give the NL and SF a run for their money outside of FOV at 1/3 the price. Pretty amazing!
Personally, I like the leatherette version more because of the better handling due to the lower weight. If you buy new, the considerably lower price of the leatherette would be an advantage too.One day I want to add an Habicht 10x40, but I am still very unsure whether it will be the GA or the leatherette version. I have never tried a GA version before. Especially the somewhat more comfortable eyecups would be the main reason to go for GA. But I find the leatherette better looking...
I attempted to receive green eyecups from Swarovski for my leatherette 8x30 but struck out, they informed me they don’t have anymore in their warehouse. But I ended up finding an alternative that made my 8x30 pair very comfortable. One day I want to add an Habicht 10x40, but I am still very unsure whether it will be the GA or the leatherette version. Perhaps of interest to some, a Habicht 8x30W GA has just come up for sale:

The seller brokenhy-84 is in Florida and the unit's listed for '$725 or Best Offer', see at: swarovski habicht 8x30w | eBay
The serial number indicates late 1998 production, and while the external finish only shows minor wear,
the images don't clearly show the condition of the objective lenses.

Must admit I engage reverse gear pronto when it's a zero feedback seller with some interesting photo's! Caveat emptor indeed.Interesting but strange foto’s, seller didn’t sell before it seems…buyer be aware.
I've had success with black silicone tape which is self fusing with no apparent residue after removal (although does lend a slight BDSM look to the binocular)I think I could live quite nicely without “SWAROVSKI” emblazoned on the axis.
I contemplated covering it with black tape, but decided not to. Don’t want gooey residue from tape.
I know you have the NL 10x42 as well. How do they compare in lowlight? Can you say something about that? I just really wonder. I suspect there isn't much difference between them?
