The Eagle (well the Hawk) has landed (1 Viewer)

Other than the military versions I've never heard of a GA shipping with the objectives covers. I believe there always requested after delivery if required.
Correct. None of my ‘standard’ Habichts came with objective covers and as I understand it, they never have been. The Opticron covers fit but I must admit that I am not particularly a fan of them.

I have asked Swarovski if they have the green ones after @Thotmosis kind prompt. I will report back on their response.

Thanks for the tip @Thosmosis but.....

Austria has spoken and in the (approximate) words of Customer Services, told me to Foxtrot Oscar and buy some if I wish.

Fair enough, after all what is a €25-30 item, (cost about €5 to SW), to someone who has bought €6500 worth of Swarovski binoculars in the last 2 years?

Mmm, around about €3800 for a cancelled pre-order for the 14x52mm NL Pure's methinks.

No need to tell me I am being pedantic and childish because I know I am, but that parsimonious response has hit a sensitive spot that I never knew existed.

Still love my objective cover-less Habicht's though!:)

Ah well, Red Dot Land next stop.

What a bad after sales…maybe try a local dealer, i got my objective covers for free here in The Netherlands from Jan van Daalen from House of Outdoors and I didn’t buy the 10x40 GA from him even as i got it second hand…

I don’t have experience wit Swarovski CS but i didn’t expect this what you describe, maybe it was a stagiair who replied to your email?

Thank you Sir!

Must admit to being a tad suprised but having taken stock I will do as you suggest and speak to the excellent Russell at SWOptics and see if the Swarovski rep can do something. I have heard of Swarovski sending out covers prior to your kind reminder so there may be a new policy, who knows?

But it has just cost them £3800 with my cancelled pre-order.

C'est la vie, or zo is het leven, as we frequenters of disgraceful Dutch Bars are often heard to murmer after (far) too many liquid refreshments! GVD!

Honestly, i was in the market for a 14x52 but was really, really on the fence…now i think i will skip it because I don’t like it that you have to buy two separate accessories (headrest and tripod adapter) and get a organic piece of soap for free which I don’t like and then also your CS story…oh well…maybe i will change my mind because i like the concept of 14x52….

That's a definite maybe then!

I have taken a deep breath and will wait out on the 14x52's as I have just spoken to someone who has tried both of the 52's and his words...they are sublime.

Well…that makes my decision even more difficult 😜….it would help if Swarovski would give me the option to swap the soap for the headrest and/or the tripod adapter…and gave a free pair of objective covers for life

Pat,

PM me your adress and I'll post you a set covers free of charge.
The fact that you just contacted someone from a brand in a bad mood doesn't mean the brand sucks.......

Jan (who has both 52's in stock en is in love with them)

Jan that is extraordinary kind of you, thank you. I have spoken to my dealer here in the UK and he is going to speak with his Swarovski Representative to see if he can get them. If I may can I put your kind offer on hold until I hear back please and if I do come up against a brick wall I will send you a pm. Again thank you for getting in touch.

As for the brand you are spot on but one stab at a first impression and as this was the first time I have contacted SW customer services I was rather taken aback at the curt reply I received.

I will probably get the 52’s once my bank balance has recovered and I am reassured by your glowing endorsement….. after all you do know a bit about optics😀 Bedankt Jan.

Please don’t be offended, but I think you are hurting yourself more than you are hurting Swarovski.
Not offended in the slightest and you are probably right! The response my dealer here in the UK and @Jan van daalen’s very kind offer has certainly tempered my highly pi**ed off reaction to this mornings conversation with SW.

As for the 14x52mm, I will probably engage reverse gear, check the mirror and eat a large slice of humble pie as I hand over many beer tokens.

Hope you had a fruitful conversation with the Bezos Posse regarding your ‘greys’ and pleased that you found the Habichts to be wonderful. They really are special.

You were told correctly by Swarovski Service. The green GA binoculars objective covers will not fit
the regular leather armored model. You are on your own.
So Foxtrot, Charlie, and enjoy yourself.

I beg your pardon?

I am fully aware that the Green GA armoured objective covers will not fit my leatherette Habicht’s.

If you had taken the time to properly read my posts it was the Green GA covers I had requested …for my Green 10x40 Habicht WGA binoculars.

You know, the Green ones, that are covered in Green rubber armour to which the Green rubber objective covers fit, and match.

I will enjoy myself thank you and telling me to FC (whatever that means) is a bit rude.

Have a nice day!

Just so there is no further confusion on your part, I attach Exhibit A, the Green Habicht 10x40 WGA’s. 1718430171701.jpeg

Are those really green? White balance being off in photos can often make black things look greenish. They are gorgeous though.
