How to wash/care for “sticky” Swarovski armor? (2 Viewers)

It certainly goes back a way. My 2015 Habicht 8x30 suddenly went at the beginning of last year. All repaired without question but a surprise as I had not expected them to be affected.

This is quite worrying if this armour problem goes back as far as 2013/14.
I thought it was only on more recent models.
It's good they are renowned for great customer service, which needs to be applauded (so far)
Couldn’t have been more helpful on the phone. She did tell me no models currently in production should have the issue and roughly speaking “new armour formula” debuted when NL line debuted and then later went to EL then SLC range However they had stopped making the x42 SLC by then so Swaro has unfortunately not yet produced a run of repair stock new formula armour for the x42 SLC. She admitted frustration that Swaro would continue asking them to “use up the old stock first” when everyone knows it’s a problem causing many repair claims. Basically the armour is a maintenance item at this point expect to have to send it in every so often.

Did you get the same armour or different when they repaired? If same how is it holding up?

That’s what I had read on year and serial number too. However see below.
50th week of 2013, mid-December. So you're right, they were already producing some new ones in late 2013. Probably announced in the fall.

Thanks for the information on 56 vs 42mm armor. 56s are still in production, though one can wonder for how much longer. 42s are now Kahles... so perhaps there will be new brown armor instead?

Difficult to tell for certain but it seems the same. It is of course very different to the NL armour being more of a faux leather finish. The repair also predates the changes they have apparently made to the armour formulation last year (but that may only be to NL armour).

Holding up OK so far.

Edit: Meant to send this yesterday but just found it lurking in the outbox.

I just had the same problem starting on my Canon 11x32 II IS and they suggested this.
