I'd love to get a 10/8x32 NL to complement my 12x42, but I'm currently unemployed and can't afford it. I'll have to wait, unfortunately.I've just had a quick scout around the major optics websites here in the uk, there is already one selling at the increased price, two others that i looked at are currently not. I guess now is the time purchase if you are on the fence.
Had the 10x32, super, maybe the 8x would compliment the 12x42 better though.I'd love to get a 10/8x32 NL to complement my 12x42, but I'm currently unemployed and can't afford it. I'll have to wait, unfortunately.
hahaha.... having just bought a car (well, truck actually), i can tell you this not accurate. The days of a $4-5k vehicle, are long gone, unless you are talking about high mileage, low demand models. Car prices are insane.Insane , pretty soon they will cost as much as a car.
Try buying a car in Norway...£2720 for the 12x, wow.
My NLs already cost 3x my car. After the price increase probably 3.5 x.
The purchase of my NL was certainly a religious experience for me.
Yeah but is doesn’t matter because you have Angelina Jordan😁😀Try buying a car in Norway...
I had a Senior Moment when I made that comment. After reading about the price increases, I started thinking back to 1974 when we bought our first Full Size Car New. It was a Chevy Impala 4 Door loaded, for a little over $3,000. Now …. you can spend that much on a pair of binoculars or more and they would easily fit in the Glove Box of that Chevy.hahaha.... having just bought a car (well, truck actually), i can tell you this not accurate. PS, not saying $3k+ isn't a chunk-o-change for binos. It certainly is!
I will third that.My guess is: you're right.

I guess China doesn’t know quality cars. 😉.I will third that.
Speaking of thirds, did you know 1/3 of Jaguar Land Rover vehicle sales are exported to China?
They might not have a brand name, but do they need to? They’re already manufacture all the mid level optics for Zeiss, Nikon and a few others. How much longer until they manufacture all the upper mid level. How many more years to making the MHG’s, Zeiss conquests, etc. etc.As long as China is unable to develop a leading brand name in optics, I’m confident Z/L/S will rule the BF roost.

I didnt put conquest in the mid level, I put it in upper mid level ,coming to you in the near future from a Chinese factory."They’re already manufacture all the mid level optics for Zeiss, Nikon and a few others."
I'm being picky here but Zeiss's entry level Terra EDs are made in China not the mid-level Conquests.
Care to share the source of your info that suggests Conquests are being moved to China for production?I didnt put conquest in the mid level, I put it in upper mid level ,coming to you in the near future from a Chinese factory.

OK. Alles klar as the Germans say.Hi Lee, OK but if I tell you , you have to keep it a secret. All kidding aside I think you misunderstood because of my lack of articulation.
The point I was trying to make was an opinion that I don’t think it’s going to be long before China is making all the upper mid grade Binoculars and Optics. In a very similar manner as to 10 to 15 years ago when Japan & maybe Taiwan were making all the mid-level glass. Which is now moved over to MIC. 10 to 15 years ago all the Nikon monarchs, Vixen Forrester Porros, and a few others that escape my mind right now we’re MIJ.

My opthamologist told me I would not see any difference unless I had cataract surgery.I still say “If you can’t see any difference, perhaps you should consider visiting an ophthalmologist.”
All the arguments, spec sheet wars, and hand waving aside, as a general statement, I believe that more expensive optics are better than less expensive optics. The word “better” seems to have as many definitions as the number of people using it.
In the minds of many, this makes me a snob, but I do see a difference, and I delight in it every time.
Believe him.My opthamologist told me I would not see any difference unless I had cataract surgery.
Whispered during a conversation with the same reliable source yesterday...A little birdie told me this afternoon that UK Swarovski prices go up tomorrow, 7% across the board, from what I understand, apart from a few items rising by 5%...
Well, using my NLs yesterday, a birder in a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce stopped and asked if I had any Grey PouponWhispered during a conversation with the same reliable source yesterday...
We can expect another Swarovski price increase in January, a smaller one, something like 3-4%. I didn’t get the precise date this time, although it'll take a while to filter through to reflect in the shop prices.
Don't get it anywhere near the armor of your NLs.Well, using my NLs yesterday, a birder in a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce stopped and asked if I had any Grey Poupon
