For me,anyone just starting out in birding can't go wrong in Norfolk.
There is always usually stuff up there but you should if you do go,keep in contact with some bird news or speak to as many fellow birders as poss to keep yourself updated on any rarities that come in while you are up there.
There are plenty of geese up there and a seawatch can usually be quite productive, with some stuff very close in.
I always station myself in wells as its reasonably central and has some great pubs with lovely beer and food.If that doesn't really interest you there are little b & bs ,guest houses, hotels all over the place and this time of year they can be very reasonably priced.
If you like basic digs then there is a youth hostel in burnham deep dale, its quite remote but on the main coast road and has a couple if places where you can eat at night
Ha ha nice one.
There's a couple of lay bys up there.
I know a bloke who kipped in his at titchwell, not sure if you are really allowed but I think he knew them and they turned the other cheek.
2 Spoonbills at Titchwell today
