Panama to Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, and Venezuela.

Formerly placed in genus Neochelidon.

Subspecies

There are three subspecies^[1]:

• A. t. minima:

• Central Panama to western Colombia and western Ecuador

• A. t. griseiventris:

• South Colombia to south-eastern Venezuela, northern Bolivia and western Amazonian Brazil

• A. t. tibialis:

• South East Brazil (Espírito Santo to Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo
