Variable Dwarf Kingfisher may refer to one of 13 species previously considered conspecific under the name Variable Dwarf Kingfisher (Ceyx lepidus).

Note that the list here follows from the mostly deep genetic differences between the lineages [1]. Since morphological / plumage differences are limited, not all authors recognise so many species. For example, [2] chose to retain a single polymorphic taxon.
