Distribution
South America: Endemic to a small part of Western Andes of northern Colombia (Antioquia).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
A second description of this species exists using the name Grallaria fenwickorum. The history of the discovery of this species is rather controversial. The Opus strictly follows the World Lists in naming species.
Habitat
Upper montane cloud forest and páramo.
