Identification
Distribution
Formerly endemic to Ua Pou, Marquesas Islands.
Last recorded in 1985 (an unconfirmed sighting in 2010).
Taxonomy
This was a monotypic species.
Formerly considered conspecific with Marquesan Monarch.
Habitat
Presumed to have preferred lowland forest in the past, which is now largely destroyed.
