Central and South America
Central America: Nicaragua, Panama
South America: Colombia, Ecuador

Taxonomy

Was formerly placed in genus Thryothorus like all other species of the genus Cantorchilus.

Subspecies^[1]

Two subspecies are recognized:

• C. l. grisescens:

• Caribbean coast of eastern Panama and adjacent Colombia

• C. l. leucopogon:

• Pacific coast of eastern Panama (Darién), western Colombia and north-western Ecuador

Habitat

Moist lowland forests.
