Identification

16–18 cm (6-7 in)

  • Bright chesnut overall plumage

Similar species

Rufous Wren and Rufous Spinetail occur in the same habitat and can look surprisingly similar on photos - notice the difference in shape of bill.

Distribution

South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru.

Habitat

Found in the undergrowth and edges of humid cloud and montane evergreen forests.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists mostly of arthropods.
