Identification
Male has yellow underside, olive-green upperside, red head with small black mask. Female olive-green upperside and most of head, yellow front, throat, and upper breast, rest of underside white.
Distribution
Taxonomy
Two subspecies are recognized[1]:
- P.e. candida
- P.e. erythrocephala
This species is placed in genus Spermagra by some authorities.
Habitat
Moist montanes.
Behaviour
Fourages singly, in pairs, or often in mixed species flocks
