Genus: Spermagra
Description
Differ from typical Piranga Tanagers in having smaller bills and unstreaked juveniles.
Taxonomy
Spermagra if recognized would be a genus in the family Cardinalidae. If recognized, the genus would contain two species: Red-headed Tanager and White-winged Tanager. This genus was resurrected by Howell and Webb but is not recognized by major authorities; these place both species in genus Piranga.
