Juveniles undescribed.
Similar species
Orange-breasted Fruiteater is very similar. Note green tinge on head and less fiery orange on chest on Masked Fruiteater.
Distribution
Endemic to the eastern slope of the Andes in Peru.
A poorly known restricted-range species. Considered uncommon to rare.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
Sometimes considered conspecific with Golden-breasted Fruiteater, Orange-breasted Fruiteater and Black-chested Fruiteater.
Habitat
Moist montanes.
Occurs from 1500 to 2250m.

Feeds on fruit.
Breeding

Movements
Probably a sedentary species.
