- Stigmatura napensis
Identification
A long-tailed tyrant which frequently wags and spreads its tail.
Distribution
South America: found in Amazon system islands (south-eastern Colombia, eastern Ecuador, north-eastern Peru and western Brazil).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
A Stigmatura form which might be an undescribed subspecies has been reported from the Orinoco river in Colombia and Venezuela.
This species formerly included the Bahia Wagtail-Tyrant.
Habitat
Lowland river islands shortly after they form.
