Location: Caxingo, state of Piauí, NE Brazil

Identification

Green uppersides, warm yellow head and undersides with some red in head, belly and flanks. Juvenile yellower with some greenish-yellow in crown and nape.

Similar species

Sun Parakeet, Sulphur-breasted Parakeet and Golden-capped Parakeet

Distribution

North-eastern Brazil from eastern Para east to the Atlantic and south to Goias.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species1.

Habitat

Woodland and forest edges, and more open areas with stands of trees.
