Distribution
South America: endemic to Brazil.

There are 2 subspecies[1]:
- A. a. auricapillus:
- East-central Brazil (northern and central Bahia)
- A. a. aurifrons:
- South-Eastern Brazil (southern Bahia to southern Paraná)
Habitat
Semi-deciduous forest and forest edges.
Behaviour
Diet
They eat mostly fruit and seeds.
