Overview
By far the best site was the closest (less than 30 minutes from the Las Vegas airport!) Henderson Bird Preserve at the Henderson water treatment facility). Not very scenic (a sewage plant) and has limited hours -check website but much better birds than Wetlands Park and also better than Desert National Wildlife Refuge) or Red Rock Canyon. Henderson requires minimal hiking and is handicapped accessible for those less mobile. It is a series of 10 ponds with gravel paths
