Identification

10·5 cm (4 in)
Upperside is olive-brown including crown and tail, wings are brown with yellow fringes (but no wing bars), underside olive on breast and flanks, yellow belly and undertail coverts. It has whitish eyes, pale yellow throat, and a warmer color to the breast and flanks than Slender-footed Tyrannulet.

Distribution

South America: occurs in eastern Venezuela, the Guianas and parts of Brazil (east of lower Rio Negro and east of Rio Branco north of Amazon River; populations south of Amazon River and east of the confluence with Rio Madeira may be an undescribed species).

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.[1]

Guianan Tyrannulet has been from split Slender-footed Tyrannulet.[1][2][4]

Habitat

Moist lowland forests.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists of insects and small fruits. They generally forage high in the canopy.

Vocalisation

The song is similar to that of Slender-footed Tyrannulet, but the call is quite distinctly different.
