Identification

16 cm

Distribution

South America: found in east and south-eastern Venezuela, tropical Guianas, and adjacent north-eastern Brazil (north of the Amazon).

Possibly also in Colombia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Most likely to be seen in primary rain forest and clearings also in gardens. Observed at heights up to 1500 m.

Behaviour

Usually seen on their own, but they do join mixed species flocks.

Diet

Little appears to be know about their diet, but they are recorded as eating beetles.

Breeding
