Distribution
Lowlands of central Vietnam (on verge of extinction in wild).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
The described form Imperial Pheasant has shown to be a hybrid between this species and Silver Pheasant.
Similarly the described Vietnamese Pheasant is included in this species. The description of the species is inadequate and variations in Edward's Pheasant still unsolved.
Habitat
Dense, wet lowland forests to 600m.
Behaviour
Breeding
The 4-7 eggs and are incubated for 21-22 days.
Vocalisation
'Alarm call: puk-puk-puk.
