Identification
A somewhat curved bill that has a pale basal half of lower mandible. Undertail is very white.
Similar Species
White-tailed Emerald has a straight bill. The bill of Stripe-tailed Hummingbird is all black and less curved, and the undertail is less uniform white.
Female of Coppery-headed Emerald is quite similar to the female Snowcap, but with greenish spots below the eye and on the neck, and with a narrower, less conspicuous dark band on the tail. Of course, the bill if seen well will be conclusive, straight on Snowcap and decurved on the emerald.
Distribution
In Central America, found in the highlands of northern and central Costa Rica.

This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
A higher elevation species. Gardens.
Behaviour
The diet includes nectar.
